Our staff tries very hard to schedule appointments so that you don’t have a long wait at the office before we see you. However, we sometimes have unplanned emergencies, unusual circumstances, or unavoidable waits in surgery that may delay your appointment. Most often, a longer wait time is due to patients who have a problem that was not anticipated, and the doctor needs to spend extra time with them. We know you or your family member will appreciate the same consideration if you require additional time during an appointment.
At those times we are running late, we will be glad to re-schedule your appointment if you prefer not to wait. We can also tell about how long the wait will be – maybe you would like to run a quick errand or browse in our optical shop.
We would appreciate a phone call as soon as possible if you are not able to keep your appointment. If patients do not show up or re-schedule several appointments at the last minute, we may ask them to "walk-in and wait" to avoid further disruptions in the appointment schedule.
Please bring the following items to your appointment:
- Current eye glasses
- Current insurance card
- Written referral (this includes Medicaid Salud programs)
- Payment for your insurance co-payments/deductibles
- List of current medications, including eye drops, vitamins, and over the counter medications
- Someone to drive you home (if your eyes will be dilated)
- Toys, snacks, books, or other items you may need for your child (let us know if we can help you)
For your convenience, we offer a full service optical shop. To be sure our optical staff has enough time to help you choose a frame and properly fit your glasses, allow about an hour.
