Duties include planning and providing direct patient care and patient education, performing ophthalmic examinations and preoperative history and physical assessments, scrubbing and assisting in surgery, and assessing and treating patients with ophthalmic and other concurrent health problems. Managerial duties include staffing, billing, and coding.

• Healthcare for the Homeless, Albuquerque, NM, 1999-2005:
  Volunteer position as family nurse practitioner for homeless individuals. Care provided includes assessing, diagnosing, and planning pharmacologic and other therapies for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric individuals as well as pregnant women.
